Police in riot gear drive back a small group of anti-government protesters as they arrived to occupy a central square in Dakar, Senegal, Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012. Police used tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse protesters who had planned to go ahead with a sleep-in Thursday at Place de l'Obelisque, even though the government had banned the demonstration being held one week before the country's presidential election.
